Nature provides me the opportunity to care for myself. When life gets to be too much, nature is my form of self-care. It is a place to be myself, let the negative thoughts fly out and focus on what really matters. When I am on a hike, my mind is focused upon the beauty around me rather than life experiences that are causing stress. When I wake up in nature, I wake up ready focus on what really matters to me and not what task needs to be checked off the to-do list next. Nature allows me to connect with myself in a way that no other space provides.
